Black Screen When Starting Laptop
What to do if you turn on your laptop black screen
If the laptop is not communicating with you, there can be many reasons for this. When you turn on the laptop. a black screen, first of all, pay attention to its hardware. For example, the power button does NOT close the electrical circuit, one or more microcontrollers on the motherboard are out of order, capacitors are swollen, the unit or portable power source is faulty. battery.
It should be noted that these problems do not always require specialist intervention. When the laptop boots up, a black screen may indicate a breakdown of both hardware and software. Be that as it may, you should clearly know what could go wrong.
How to recognize a problem and fix it in a timely manner
When a black screen is seen when the laptop starts up and there are no character lines, the unit may not be powering its components. In this case, you need to put the battery on charge for an hour and a half.
In more serious situations, the battery may fail and NOT function at all. If this happens, you need to carefully disconnect it by removing the plastic latches, then connect the power directly. When removing the battery, disconnect the power to the laptop first to avoid possible electric shock.
The opposite situation may also arise: the battery is working stably, and the power supply is out of order. To determine this, put the battery on charge. If the mains voltage is functioning normally, but the charge indicator is “silent”, you need to perform a light test.
To do this, unplug the power supply from the laptop, and, NOT unplugging the plug from the outlet, prohibit the block connector and the base of a small 3-5 watt bulb. Perform this action with rubber gloves on your hands. If there is no light on, check the cord. Perhaps, somewhere along its length, the damage is insulation, and the inner core of the wire is broken. This cord must be replaced immediately. Modern power adapters allow you to replace the cable by simply removing the previous one from the corresponding connector.
However, if no obvious damage to the wire is found (there is a suspicion of a malfunction of the unit itself), you should contact a service workshop. Diagnostics and possibly repair of the internal parts of the adapter should be carried out by qualified specialists in this field.
Black screen when turning on laptop. The power button may NOT be powering
To check the serviceability of the button itself, you should dismantle the upper panel part. This usually does not require a complete disassembly of the laptop.
Next, you need to check that the button normally supplies power and closes the working contacts. Such work should be carried out either with knowledge of electrical engineering and skills in working with a soldering iron, or under the supervision of a repairman for electronic systems.
If, when the laptop is turned on, the screen is black and the buttons do not connect the necessary contacts, it must be evaporated and a similar battery inserted. At the end of the work, do not forget to screw the disassembled panel into place.
Another common reason that when the laptop is turned on a black screen and nothing is displayed is a malfunction of the screen itself or the motherboard. And if checking the monitor requires the knowledge of a specialist, then some removable elements of the motherboard can be sequentially disconnected. Then check the performance of the laptop without this or that element.
The restrictions apply only to the central processor, which is the main hardware-connecting link. The maximum that can be determined is the absence of the necessary thermal grease or the cleavage of the central core (crystal). The heat dissipating cooler may also be faulty if the cooling is NOT water.
On laptop black screen with cursor
What to do if, when you turn on the laptop, the black screen and the cursor do not allow you to finish important work or just relax at the computer, as is customary in modern society. “When the laptop boots up, a black screen with a cursor”. these messages regularly come to me on my LAN. As you can see, laptop owners often suffer from a jumbled version of Windows, since the hardware obviously does not play any role here. If the problems were caused by the disconnection of some module, say, RAM, then you would not even be able to see the Windows logo.
“Black screen and cursor when turning on the laptop” is a typical error in the operation of the operating system. Failure can occur in any system file and we are unlikely to find the same file, even if the laptop boots in normal mode immediately after the “emergency reboot”. Another thing is important, namely, our Further actions to resume work. Of course, we can always reinstall Windows and all the black screen bad things will come to an end. But why complicate your life, delete a bunch of valuable files, and in general, it is NOT a royal business to reinstall Windows! Therefore, I will give a couple of simple ways to turn on an extinct laptop, and not scoffing at hard drives.
Safe startup mode
It is important to remember that in any case, we can “skip” a black screen with a cursor on a laptop, started the computer in safe mode.
The purpose of safe mode is to start Windows even in hopeless cases like ours. In this case, the system will work only with the necessary services, most programs, including Windows themes, will be unavailable. This is done on purpose, in fact, that’s why the car “starts up” without focusing on the problem with loading.
You can get into safe mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key (depending on your laptop model) immediately after pressing the power button. The following menu will appear, where we will select “safe mode”.
After the final load, we will see the familiar desktop with a lower resolution and the standard Windows theme. Don’t live, go to the step that I call “System Restore”. Go to it through Start. All Programs. Accessories. System Tools. System Restore.
Briefly about why this function is needed. With its help, the user will be able to roll back all the latest changes in the laptop’s memory, this will also affect changes within the operating system. All we need is to choose the optimal or recommended restore point, as in the following screenshot. Read more here.
We select the earliest event (for maximum guarantee), then click “Next”.
Click “Finish” and the recovery will start automatically. When loading a laptop, a black screen with a cursor will no longer appear if the damage to the software shell has not been significant for centuries.
You should NOT exclude this version either. Malicious software loves to wander around the hard drive and wreak havoc there. There are many varieties of Trojans, worms and other evil spirits, which are designed specifically to suppress the performance of your OS. You can pick up such an infection anywhere, so I recommend using an antivirus. It does not necessarily install Kaspersky with an expensive license, it is enough to download a free distribution kit and enjoy basic protection (Avast!, Dr. Web).
At the first convenient opportunity, perform a deep scan of hard drives to get rid of unwanted programs once and for all. These are simple rules of prevention that should not be forgotten. Scanning can be performed immediately after system recovery, as soon as the laptop is working properly again.
Windows recovery via disk or USB flash drive
If you have the required version of Windows installation disc, then it’s time to use it. Connect a USB flash drive or disk with Windows, restart the PC and go to Bios (when turned on, press Del F2 or Esc). Next, you should put the boot from a USB flash drive or disk. You can read more about how to do it right here.
By completing these steps, we can start the Windows installation mode before the black screen with the cursor on the laptop upset the user. I will demonstrate this process using the example of the “seven”. This function works quite simply.
We start the installation as usual, but at this point it is necessary to slow down slightly and call it “System Restore”.
After that, the first window will pop up in front of us.
Here we do NOT change anything, but just move on.
This is where we can choose any method of dealing with a black screen that we want. Usually, I choose “Startup Repair” and don’t worry! You can also choose the second option, which is similar to what we described in the previous chapter. The operating system will do everything automatically, after which everything will work again. Usually, this method is used when there are damaged boot files. They can be damaged for various reasons, but the most common is confusion with unmarked screw areas due to the installation of multiple operating systems. Therefore, we will NOT be Hercules and sit better on a single Windows.
How to boot without an installation disc?
You can remove the black screen with the cursor when you turn on the laptop without a special disk with the system image. The so-called “rehabilitation” procedure can be downloaded from the hard drive. We launch the menu of additional boot options by pressing the F8 key when turning on the laptop. Such a thing will appear on the screen.
After that, we select the same as in the upper screen. (Important! If there is important data on the computer that should be saved, then you need to do this before this procedure. How to do it is described here.) Next, you will reset all settings of the operating system and restore it to the factory state. This is done the same way on almost all laptops, so if you decide to recover using this method, then follow this link.
If you were always frightened by a black screen with a cursor, then you probably managed to make a “system image”. With its help, you can also quickly restore everything as it was before. We create this image in the “Backup and Restore” menu, which lies in the “Control Panel” where the subsection “Create a system image” is also located. We create and save this image on another hard drive (on which the system itself does not cost) and at any time we can return everything to its place by booting from the Windows installation disk and choosing the item not “System Restore” or “Startup” as written above. and “System Image Recovery”
What should I do if, when I turn on my laptop, a black screen and cursor pops up earlier than the usual Microsoft logo appears? I think we figured out this issue, and also got enough skills to restore Windows. Successful work and don’t be afraid of black screens with mysterious cursors!
One comment to the article “On laptop black screen with cursor
the fact of the matter is that even in safe mode there is a black screen and a cursor, but I can move the cursor calmly. But the desktop itself is lacking. Windows license, the laptop is already 5 years old and somehow there were no problems with the license. at night when I turned off the laptop everything was ok, but this morning this is. and neither the safe mode nor the usual does not change anything. The screen works because I see the Windows loading and I can choose from the list how to load the laptop, etc.
Black screen caused by physical impact when loading laptop
Failure of the monitor, card, bridge, damage to the cords. In this case, you need to check separately the monitor and the system unit and find what exactly the problem is.
If the problem is in the monitor, the task is extremely simplified, you will have to carry it to the SC. If the system unit, then pay attention to how long ago you cleaned it, elementarily it may NOT work due to dust and oxide. If possible, connect the monitor NOT to the card, but to another slot (built-in card).
This problem is most likely caused by the failure of the north bridge, in order to make sure of this you will have to warm it up, you can do this using a soldering station. This type of repair is usually quite difficult for the user to do on his own, therefore, service centers are engaged in this. After the bridge warms up, the monitor will be in service again, but not for a long time. The solution to this problem is to replace the bridge. At a price of about 70 if the laptop is not gaming, and so the price fluctuates depending on the laptop model.
Black screen when turning on laptop
Author: Published 11.11.2017 Updated 29.03.2020
If the laptop works but the screen is black, then this can be caused by a number of reasons presented below. We will analyze why, including the laptop, we see a black screen. List of problems and solutions to this problem.
Laptop DOES NOT boot black screen, BIOS settings failed
The problem may arise as a result of resetting, changing, flashing the BIOS, then you need to reset it to factory settings. To do this, follow the instructions below:
- When starting the laptop, press the f10 key for 15 seconds in order to get into the BIOS.
- Then press f9 and enter to return to the default settings.
- Press the f10 key and enter. so we save and reboot the laptop.
Please note that all these actions we are performing in the “dark” not seeing what is happening on the matrix.
Laptop won’t turn on black screen, settings fail
This variant of the problem may be caused by a failure in the hardware settings. In this case, you will need to perform a reset.
In order to perform a hard reset, you need to follow the instructions below.
- Disconnect laptop from power.
- stick out the battery
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds
- Will give RAM, wipe the contacts of RAM with an eraser, let it rest for 5-10 minutes, insert it back.
- After that, insert the battery and connect the laptop to power.
After that, the black screen should not appear when the laptop is turned on.
Black screen and cursor
If you have a black screen and a cursor when loading windows, then this problem arose as a result of a failure in the system of the explorer.exe file, which is responsible for enabling. the desktop, toolbar, file manager. This failure can be caused by a number of different reasons, for example: viruses, not successful updates, etc.
You can return your computer to a normal state using System Restore. Now we need to break through to it, we will do it through “sticky keys” for this, we need to press the shift key 5 times
After that we get the window that you see above, we need to go to the “Accessibility Center to disable the keyboard shortcut”.
We get such a window where in the search line (from the top right under the “close” button) you need to write “support center” After which we will see the Blue flag Support center click on it and enter the next window, at the very bottom select “Restore”
Then it gets to another window in which we select “start system restore” Next, check the box “select another system restore point” and click further, then select the desired restore point, click further. ready, click to confirm the decision “Yes”.
After that, the computer will restart and start with the “windows black screen with cursor” problem solved
I want to add that this method will help you if you have NOT previously disabled the system restore function
Black screen and cursor at startup
When loading, we press the f8 key for about 10 seconds, then we get to the choice of loading, select the first item “troubleshooting” after loading, we see the windows “System recovery options” click further. ok. after which we are offered to make a choice to restore the system, select the very first item “Startup recovery” after which the launch of the working environment should be performed automatically.
If none of the two methods helped to fix the problem of “black screen and cursor when starting windows”, then move on. When a black screen appears, press ctrlaltdel launch the “task manager” press “application” (if you have menu items to select, then double-clicking on the top area of the task manager, you can eliminate this) “New task.” and in the window “create new task “and enter the following” C: /Windows/System32/explorer.exe “and confirm” ok “. if you get an error message and the icons on the desktop do not appear, do the following. We close the error, in the task manager, go to the Processes tab and terminate all processes (right-click on the process. it will end the process) with the name explorer.exe. Then go back to the application and add the same task “C: /Windows/System32/explorer.exe” (you can try adding without specifying the path “explorer.exe”).
After THESE actions, everything should fall into place, if this option did NOT help, try turning it in safe mode.
Hopefully the article on “Windows black screen solution” helped you. If there is, leave comments, we will fight this problem together.
If the laptop does not start, not a single indicator is on, and the fans are not making noise, it is worth checking the battery status. For this, it is disconnected. The laptop is connected to a 220V network with a charger. If the system unit works in this mode, it means that an internal battery breakdown has occurred. It is enough to replace it to resume normal operation.
The case when the laptop is working, but nothing is displayed on the screen, may be due to an outdated BIOS version of the motherboard. In this case, the following happens:
- a new generation operating system such as Windows 10 automatically installed new drivers for the card;
- the power management scheme provided in the new software may not work correctly with the resources of the motherboard;
- when the laptop is turned on, the monitor does not turn on, but the power button is on, there is a sound of cooling, logging in. this shows that everything is working fine.
In this situation, the user sees only a black screen with a cursor. In Asus, Acer laptops of old revisions, for the appearance of an image, it is enough to close and reopen the lid.
Broken loop or failure of the backlight system
What to do if when the laptop boots up a black screen, the fan works, but nothing happens? The answer is simple: check the operation of the external output of the card. To do this, an external monitor must be connected to the laptop. This can be done using the connector on the side panel.
If your laptop has a modern HDMI connector, you can plug it into your TV to test it. If the indicators are on, the coolers are noisy, and the image did not appear on the main screen and the external monitor. you should try pressing the F6 button to forcibly switch to the connected image device.
As a conclusion
Many information sources recommend resetting the laptop’s BIOS if it does not turn on or there is no image on the screen. This step does NOT seem rational. The fact is that before installing the modern operating system Windows 10, Windows 7, the service engineer could switch the operating mode of the disk controller to ACHI. When you reset the BIOS, the IDE value will be returned. In this case, the system will not be able to boot under any circumstances.
If you decide to overwrite the BIOS, you should refer to the instructions for the laptop. It contains all the data necessary to carry out this operation. Many laptops, including the already mentioned Lenovo brand, require pressing a special key or combination to enter the BIOS. All the necessary information is stated in the instruction manual for a specific model.
The absence of an image on the display with obvious signs of system operation may mean a failure of the chip or central processor. Especially often this problem appears on Lenovo laptops.
Built on single-chip solutions, they can come out of standing due to strong overheating or static discharge to the external port. Unfortunately, this problem is diagnosed only in a service center. Getting rid of her will cost money. In the case of Lenovo. very impressive.
The scratch disk in some laptop models is NOT rigidly fixed to a slide. A situation when the fan is noisy when turned on, and the display has a black desktop screen, may mean that the hard drive contacts are out of order. It can also be accessed by removing the cover on the bottom of the laptop.
Before any work, the laptop is disconnected from the network, the battery is removed from it. After removing the cover, the hard drive is removed and inserted more tightly. If it is in the slide, you need to check the tightness of their fastening, if necessary, the disk is corrected for better contact with the connector.
The reason why the laptop won’t boot and the fan is running might be due to a RAM failure. eg:
- one of the planks came off due to the shaking of the device;
- due to periodic switching on after coming from frost, condensate and oxides formed inside the RAM connectors;
- contact group of one of the memory lines oxidized.
To check the status of the RAM, you will have to dismantle the protective cover on the bottom of the laptop.
Before use, the laptop must be unplugged and the battery removed. After removing the cover (it can pry off along the edges and go up or move towards the edge of the case), access to the RAM strips is opened. To remove them, you need to move the side latches. After that, the bar rises 45 degrees and is pulled out.
It is required to check the cleanliness of the connector, as well as the condition of the contact pads on the memory line. If there are traces of oxides, dirt. they are removed with alcohol, followed by a thorough rubbing with a regular school eraser for erasing a pencil. The strip in which the contact foil is rubbed through must be replaced.
Installing the ruler is done upside-down. The bar is tightly inserted into the connector (its protrusion and the notch on the line of the memory contact group must match) at an angle of 45 degrees until it stops. After that, the RAM line is lowered slightly. You need to make sure that the clips fit into their regular places, in the recesses on the side panels of the plank.
Newly installed software may be a prerequisite for malfunctioning card drivers. In this scenario, when the laptop boots up, a black screen is displayed with no clear signs of a normal login as a prompt sound.
To remove recently installed programs, you need to boot into Safe Mode. For this:
- at the end of the BIOS loading, the F8 button is pressed;
- if the laptop does not display diagnostic messages, you can quickly press and release the button continuously immediately after turning on;
- when a text term with boot options appears on the screen, select safe mode.
After turning on the laptop in safe mode, you should uninstall recently installed programs. After rebooting, the system will be restored.
A hard reset might help when the laptop turns on but the screen is black. It is done differently on SEPARATE manufacturer’s models. HP offers detailed instructions both on its website and in the documentation for your computer. In general, you need to proceed as follows:
- the laptop turns off and is disconnected from the network;
- the battery is pulled out;
- the power button is clamped for 20 seconds or more. this is necessary to neutralize the remaining charge on the elements of the motherboard;
- the laptop is connected by the charger to the network and turns on.
For a double check, you can connect an external monitor or TV to the system. When turning on, you need to Follow: if the BIOS check lines appear on the device connection at startup, and there are images on the display, then the problem is in the laptop screen. A visit to the service center is required.
Safe Mode Operation
Start safe mode with loading network drivers using the F8 key or the installation media with Windows 8. If the system starts up correctly, then you need to check that there is an inscription in the corner stating that you are using a copy that is NOT genuine.
If there is an inscription, then you can remove the black screen using the correct Windows activation or buying a license key. Alternatively, try performing a system restore by rolling back to the date the black screen did NOT prevent you from working.
It is definitely worth checking the card drivers:
- Open the device manager.
- find adapter.
- Open properties and go to “Driver”.
- Select “rollbacks”.
If rolling back the drivers does not help, try the opposite action. update the card software.
- Click WinR and run “dxdiag”.
- On the “Display” tab, look at the device name and driver version.
- Search the internet for the software for your card model and update the drivers.
Another point is to check your computer for viruses. Use antivirus and cleaning utilities (Dr. Web CureIt, Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool) to increase scanning efficiency. Remove all malicious applications before trying to boot the system again normally.
Before we begin to understand why after turning on, instead of the usual Windows boot, you see a black screen and a cursor, let’s see the Possible causes of this problem:
- Installing an unlicensed copy of the system.
- Damage to system files or registry.
- Viral infection.
- Card driver problems.
- hardware faults.
If the black screen does NOT appear right away, but when Windows starts, try loading the last good configuration. Windows 7 users need:
- Restart your computer (laptop).
- At startup, press F8 until the menu appears.
- Select Last Known Good Configuration Boot.
Unfortunately, this handy option is not available on Windows 8. Therefore, you will have to check the system through safe mode (if the last good configuration on Windows 7 did not help, also use safe mode).
Black screen on a laptop or computer: looking for the cause and troubleshooting
If, when you turn on the computer, a black screen fills the entire display space, then the first step is to check all the contacts. Make sure the monitor is plugged in and the indicator is on. Check the cable between the card and monitor. If a black screen appears when you turn on the laptop, go directly to the next diagnostic step. checking the software and hardware status of the device.
If a black screen appears with inscriptions, then you need to rewrite or remember the information that the computer is trying to transmit. Typically, the specific cause of the problem is listed, such as “Bootmgr is missing”. The computer told you what the problem is, you just have to see what to do in a specific situation.
A black (blue) screen with white letters also appears when you run Check Disk. If the system was terminated abnormally, then when the computer is turned on, an error check will be launched.
DO NOT interrupt the operation. Wait for it to finish, then the next time the system is started, it will NOT turn on again. If you cancel the check, then a screen with white letters will appear every time the computer starts.
Hardware faults are more difficult to deal with. It’s good if there is a signal on the screen. most likely, the cable connecting the monitor and the card has simply come off. If the screen appears without anything immediately after starting the computer, and there is no way to boot into safe mode, then you are faced with a hardware failure.
- Inspect all ports and external cables. they must be intact.
- Remove the cover of the system unit and carefully examine the system components, as well as the cables. Pay special attention to the map. it should not have any damage or dirt.
- Remove all RAM modules one by one, wipe the contacts, then reinstall the brackets.
- Clean the system unit (laptop) from dust.
A squeak coming from the speaker of the motherboard will help determine the hardware malfunction. Find a fault map on the Internet that allows you to determine the nature of the error by the BIOS beeps.
If the computer does not sound, then the motherboard itself may be damaged. This is probably the most embarrassing error you can face. If you have already done everything possible, and there was NO reaction from the computer, then you should contact the service center. home diagnostic methods have been exhausted.
What to do if the display shows a black screen when you turn on your laptop
The more complex the equipment, the more likely it is to malfunction. This type of device includes laptops.
than half of laptop owners face unexpected problems with the loss of functionality of this complex device, for example, displaying a black screen when the mobile computer is loaded again.
Failures occur for many reasons, which are often caused not only by a factory defect, but also by careless handling of the laptop.
Of course, the easiest way to solve the problem is through specialized service centers, but often the causes of problems lie on the very surface and are completely removable on their own.
Troubleshooting a crash using bootable external media
The sequence of steps is as follows:
- Insert an optical disc into the drive or choose to connect a USB flash drive with a bootable distribution kit to the usb port;
- Then, when you reboot the laptop, open the BIOS menu (the entry into this program is described in the instructions above)
- Install the launch of the laptop from external media;
- Exit BIOS while saving parameters;
- Now the machine will start from a USB flash drive or from a disk and the faulty files will NOT have an impact on boot;
- In the drop-down menu they will call “System Restore”;
- In the next window, DO NOT take any action, just click “Next”;
- Then, for the OS to restore the boot files on its own, it will be called “Startup Recovery”;
- Wait until the end of the process;
- Done. the problem is resolved.
The main causes of failure
Mechanical stress as a result of careless operation of the device, the presence of liquid on components and contact surfaces of parts, overheating of the PC due to poor cooling conditions, and much more leads to equipment failure.
Some of the most common reasons a laptop boots normally include the following:
- The parameters of the hardware settings are incorrect;
- RAM problems;
- Battery malfunction;
- Display errors (matrix or loop may be damaged)
- Problems caused by laptop overheating;
- Problems. Accelerator.
If the problem is caused by malicious applications?
The operating system is often disrupted by viruses, which are also a prerequisite for displaying a black display on a laptop, while it can even turn off spontaneously. Therefore, after restoring the OS, it is necessary to perform a complete analysis of the laptop’s memory.
First you need to think and remember what the PC users were doing before the crash occurred. Often, the boot problem is affected by some last installed application or game causing errors in Windows.
Then it won’t be difficult to fix the problem by booting in safe mode and rolling the OS back to the resume point. Below is a description of the recovery method in more detail.
You should also pay attention to commonplace things, such as whether there is a power supply to the laptop. Often the device cannot be started due to a completely dead battery.
In the case when the PC starts up normally after applying power through the network adapter, it means that a simple battery replacement is required.
It should be noted that if in early models, for example, Asus and Acer Aspire, access to the battery was very simple and easy to carry out even by novice users, then some modern models require disassembling the case to get to the battery.
Also need to pay attention to the condition of the power cord. It must be free from defects, cuts, kinks and crushing.
If after installing the adapter into an outlet on the laptop, the indicator starts to light up, then this reason also needs to be excluded and go to the next step.
If it does not light up, then, firstly, you need to make sure that the outlet itself is working properly and electricity is supplied to it and, secondly, analyze the condition of the laptop adapter wires.
What should I do if all indicators light up normally, and the device cannot start? Further, it is necessary to exclude the influence of incorrect parameters of the hardware settings. This is also easy to do on your own by simply resetting them.
For this purpose, it is necessary to perform the following actions:
- Disconnect the device from the power supply;
- Remove the battery;
- Press and DO NOT release the “Start” (not less than 15 seconds);
- This action will completely use up the small accumulated charge in the laptop;
- Install the battery in its original place (it is recommended to pre-clean the contacts and wipe them with a concentrated solution of ethyl alcohol)
- Connect to the power supply;
- Turn on the laptop;
- In the displayed menu, specify the normal Windows boot mode;
- Click on “Input”;
In the event that the device still refuses to turn on, it will proceed with the implementation of the recommendations from the next paragraph of this manual.
What to do in case of such a failure?
If, when you turn on the laptop, a dark screen, and the user does not have special diagnostic equipment, and even more so proper experience, then entrusting the work to the master from the repair center will be a good solution.
However, with at least a little experience in handling computer equipment and a detailed guide in front of your eyes, with specific recommendations for eliminating the causes of errors, the laptop owner can not only save a significant part of the family budget (repairing mobile computers is an expensive undertaking), but also master valuable skills, Which more than once will come to his aid in difficult situations, which often arise with digital technology.
Important note: All of the step-by-step instructions described below are presented for informational material only and do NOT call for their implementation at all. The author of the manual is NOT responsible for the careless actions of users.
Unfortunately, not all employees of the service centers fulfill their duties in good faith. There are situations when the owner of a laptop gives a large sum for the elimination of minor problems. For example, after turning on the laptop, only a black square and a cursor may be displayed.
The first thing the wizard will do is disconnect the battery from the device and leave the PC on the next day. The next day after installing all the removed components in place, the laptop sometimes starts to boot up and function normally again.
Of course, the owner of the computer will NOT be informed about this, but they will simply take money from him for the Allegedly replaced hardware component.
It should be noted that the cost of components for laptops has never delighted anyone.
In the absence of problems with the hardware components of the PC, in the vast majority of cases, users can cope with software problems on their own.
In the case when the laptop on its monitor does NOT show signs of life, but the system unit is functioning, while characteristic sounds are heard, for example, the noise of the cooling system and the operation of the hard drive, it means that there is a high degree of probability of display malfunctions.
Almost all laptops have a VGA socket at the end for connecting an additional screen.
For this purpose, some modern models, for example, from Dell, Lenovo and Samsung, provide an HDMI socket. After connecting an external monitor, you need to try again to connect the laptop.
When the connected screen is able to normally display all the images accompanying the OS loading and after turning on you can see the Windows desktop, the conclusion is unambiguous: the problem is in the laptop display.
Next, you will need to diagnose the reasons for the failure of the screen, for example, check the loop and the matrix. Unfortunately, at home, such an analysis is impossible without the presence of special equipment.
But it is too early to get very upset, since the points set out below often help to fix the problem.
Therefore, when the owner of the device is sure that the unit is working and you can hear how the fan sometimes starts to rotate, then before contacting the service center, you should start studying the further paragraphs of this manual.
Safe Mode Failure Remediation Procedure
Perform several of the following steps:
- Name “Start”;
- Then go to “Programs”;
- Then enter the “Standard”;
- After that, open the “Service” section;
- Will be named “System Restore”;
- Check the box “Recommended recovery”;
- Click “Next”;
- Select a restore point;
- Name “Next”;
- In the menu that appears, click “Finish”;
- Wait until the end of the process;
- After the procedure and rebooting, the laptop will NOT crash with a black background, and the system will start in normal mode.
Procedure for detaching and reinstalling the planks
You need to do the following:
- Remove the adapter plug from the power socket, thereby ensuring complete isolation of the device from the mains;
