How to display a phone screen on an LG TV
We display the image over the air from a tablet or phone (Android) to a TV using Miracast technology (without wires). Using the Asus tablet and LG TV as an example
Now it is possible to prepare a very useful and relevant article on setting up a wireless screen on tablets and phones that run on the Andriod operating system. With the help of Miracast technology, we will display the image from the tablet on the TV. All this will work over the air, that is, without wires.
Now, a large number of modern TVs that have Smart TV functions, and have the ability to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, also have the ability to work as wireless screens using Intel WiDi technology, or Miracast. You can read about these technologies in more detail in a separate article How to display an image from a laptop, smartphone, or tablet to a TV over Wi-Fi? TV as a wireless monitor [Intel WiDi and Miracast]. But, there I wrote more about theory, and in this article there will be only practice.
So, this means that the TV can receive an image through the air. And our tablets and smartphones that run on Android are most likely able to transmit this image using Miracast technology. In the settings, this is called a wireless screen.
What does all this give us? We can connect our tablet or phone to a TV and everything that happens on the screen of a mobile device will be displayed on the TV. And all this wirelessly. In this way, you can display a photo on a large screen, or a video. Watch online videos, or play games on your tablet and display it all on your TV. There are some nuances, which I will write about below, but all this can be done, and now I will show how.
I just took a photo, screenshots, tested everything, checked it and now I will share it all with you. Everything is based on a real example, as always!
- The mobile device from which we will display the image on the TV. Tablet, or smartphone on Android. Not all Android devices can work with Miracast technology (wireless screen). But, according to my observations, almost all modern devices can do this.
- A TV that will receive images using Miracast wireless technology from a tablet or phone. Modern TVs can do this. If your TV has built-in Wi-Fi (or external receiver). and there is a Smart TV function, then most likely it can output an image wirelessly.
I will show on the example of the LG 32LN575U TV and the Asus MeMO Pad 10 tablet.
To set up such a connection, a Wi-Fi router is not needed, compared to setting up the transfer of medical content via DLNA.
Using wireless image transmission in practice
I played a little and tried to understand what this technology can really be used for. The problem is that with such image transmission, there is a slight delay. That is, on the tablet the page has already opened, and on the TV it appears in a second, roughly speaking.
Perhaps, on more expensive equipment, this delay will be less, but it is more likely to be. For displaying photos on a big screen, this kind of connection is great. Everything wirelessly as we love.
Sites can be viewed, or, for example, watch online videos.
By the way, I started the video on the tablet, it is displayed well on the TV. Albeit with a delay, but the sound goes in sync with the video. Sound, by the way, is transmitted too.
Tried playing games but the delay is a little annoying.
We connect the tablet and TV for wireless image transmission
All we need to do is turn on Wi-Fi on the tablet, turn on Miracast on the TV, and pair the devices.
Turn on Miracast / Intel WiDi on LG TV
I will show on the example of an LG TV. If you have a third-party TV, this feature may turn on slightly differently. On the menu, it may be called differently.
Turn on the TV, and press the SETTINGS button on the remote control to enter the settings.
In the settings, go to the Network tab and select Miracast / Intel’s WiDi.
Next, turn on Miracast. Just flip the switch to On.
Everything, the TV can be left for now. But, don’t turn it off.
Turn on the “Wireless Screen” on your tablet or Android smartphone
We take our tablet (in my case). and go to settings.
I want to note that depending on the device (manufacturer, model, Android version, shell). activation of this function may differ. Just search for the desired items in the menu of your device.
In the settings, immediately turn on Wi-Fi, and go to the Screen (Display) tab. On the right, select the item Wireless screen (Miracast).
Turn on Miracast by setting the switch at the top to the On position. Below, your TV should appear. Its name will be there. To start wirelessly transferring images to your TV, just click on the name of the TV.
We return to the TV. There should be a request to connect the device. Just confirm the connection by choosing Yes. If you want this device to be connected without a request in the future, check the box next to the item “Connect automatically without request”.
Then the connection status will go, check and the devices will be connected. An image from the tablet appears on the TV.
To turn off the broadcast of the image on the TV, just click again on the name of the TV and select Ok.
An excellent technology that allows you to display the picture that you see on your tablet or phone on the big screen without any wires. Everything connects without any problems and works flawlessly. At least I didn’t notice any problems.
The only drawback is the delay in updating the image on the TV. It is difficult to play games, but you can watch a photo or video. Display some kind of presentation on TV, no problem at all.
How to display picture or video from phone to LG TV
Modern gadgets and home appliances have long become complementary devices due to their ability to connect to the Internet and synchronize. And this is very convenient, as it allows you to expand the functionality and make the use easier and more convenient. For example, you can control your LG Smart TV with your smartphone (turning it into a remote control) or display images and videos from your smartphone on your TV screen.
What is it for? Pros of connecting a smartphone to an LG TV:

Connecting a smartphone to an LG TV via HDMI is possible if the phone is equipped with a mini HDMI interface; in other cases, you will need to additionally purchase a special adapter.
- Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the back of your TV and the other into your phone port.
- Go to the “Main Menu” of the TV and select the section “Signal Source” / Press the Input button.
- Select the HDMI source that the smartphone is connected to as the source. The connector number can be seen on the back of the TV, but in the vast majority of cases it is the only one active.
In this way, you can display images and videos on LG TV from almost any smartphone: LG, Samsung, Huavei, Lenovo. In order to sync iPhone, you need a special Lightning to HDMI adapter.
Also, different models of smartphones can be connected to LG TV using different connectors. For example, a number of LG phone models (including the LG 2X) are equipped with a dedicated Micro HDMI port or the more modern USB Type-C port. Also, a number of smartphones of democratic models support the MHL standard (Mobil High Definition Link), with the help of which the signal is received directly from the data transfer and Micro-USB charging port. Analogue of MHL. SlimPort standard, implemented in many models of LG smartphones, allowing video transmission in 1080p resolution.
All of these methods are suitable for older models of smartphones. For newer models, it is recommended to use wireless transmission methods.
How to end the broadcast
When you want to finish broadcasting, just open Control Center and click on the Screen Recorder icon.
A notification will appear at the top of the screen stating that the broadcast has been terminated. The TV will return to its normal state.
How to Display Image from iPhone / iPad to LG or Samsung TV with Smart TV
If you have a Samsung or LG Smart TV, you don’t have to buy an Apple TV or other device to stream your iPhone or iPad to your TV.
The new Mirror for Samsung TV and Mirror for LG TV apps developed by AirBeamTV BV allow you to stream the contents of your iOS 11 device to your Smart TV screen.
In this tutorial, we will show you how the Mirror for LG TV app works, but the Mirror for Samsung TV app should work in much the same way.
For the apps to work, your iPhone / iPad and Smart TV must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If so, then you can start.
How to Cast iPhone Screen to LG Smart TV
After connecting both devices to the same Wi-Fi network, follow the steps below:
1) Download and install the Mirror for LG TV application from the App Store (the cost is 379 rubles).
3) Wait for your TV to appear in the list of available ones, and then click on its name.
4) If a window appears on the TV asking if you want to connect the device, using the remote, press Accept / Allow.
5) The application will prompt you to add a screen recording icon to the Control Center and enable access in applications. If you have these settings enabled, you can skip the corresponding steps.
6) Go to Settings → Control Center and enable Access in programs:
7) Then open the Customize Element section. control and add the Screen Recorder icon.
8) Return to the Mirror for LG TV app and skip all instructions by clicking on the button at the bottom of the screen:
9) You will need to enable Notifications so you can see when your device connects to and disconnects from your TV.
10) When you have completed all the steps, the application will redirect you to YouTube to test the function. Find any video you want to watch on TV.
11) Then open Control Center and click on the Screen Recorder icon using 3D Touch or just long press.
12) Next, select the Mirror LGTV option and click Start Broadcast.
After that, you should see the contents of your device on the TV screen with a slight lag.
- The device must be running iOS 11 or later.
- Broadcasting occurs with a lag of 1-3 seconds.
- Audio from Safari will not play on the TV, only on the device itself.
- You need to start broadcasting only after you open the desired application, since switching between applications will disable it.
- Some applications block broadcasting. These include Netflix.
- Apps are only supported by Samsung and LG Smart TV. No support for other brands.
What you need to know
Although the application is very convenient, it has its own nuances that are worth knowing about. First, it only supports Smart TVs from 2012 and newer. If you are not sure which TV you have, you can check the model on the back.
If you have a Samsung Smart TV, see which letter is in the middle of the model name (on the back of the TV).
UE55_E_S8000 = 2012
UE78_H_U8500L = 2014
If you have an LG Smart TV, it will be more difficult to identify the model. The app developers recommend that you install a free trial version of the app and check if your TV is compatible with it.
Mirror for Samsung TV and Mirror for LG TV apps can be useful if you have a Smart TV at home.
Whether you would like to watch YouTube videos or surf the web on a big screen, these apps will do the job just fine. If you are a gamer or just hate a delay of a couple of seconds, then applications are unlikely to suit you.
When you need it?
It is convenient to watch photos, videos and any other content through the TV. The screen makes it possible to get a large picture, to see what is happening in detail. The image from the smartphone to the TV is transmitted without interference and delays, but only if the connection is correct. And if you supplement the TV screen with a wireless mouse and keyboard, then this can successfully replace your computer.
This method is used for various purposes. Some people prefer to communicate on social networks and display video calls on the screen. Others take the opportunity to play their favorite game, watch streaming, or even read a large book. It is very convenient to work with documentation in this mode as well.
The specificity of the connection depends on the type of devices used. There are phones that do not have an HDMI port. It is better to use it wirelessly here. In general, there are only two types of connection between the phone and the TV: wired or wireless.
Regardless of the connection option, it takes a minimum of effort to display the picture on the screen.
To project a picture in this way, you need to use HDMI. Today this type of connection is considered the most popular, since this port is present on the case of most models. The phone must have micro-HDMI to view photos or videos. If not, this is not a problem. Modern manufacturers have come up with a special adapter that allows you to display the picture in the same quality as if the smartphone was connected directly.
On expensive models of modern technology, there may be several such ports. From the menu, you just need to select the one you need. When the second stage is completed, you need to select the desired function in the smartphone. This will duplicate the image onto the TV screen. In the process of such a connection, no problems should arise.
It is important to remember that not every application has an automatic dubbing function for two screens, so the setting is done manually. There is always an item in the phone menu that is responsible specifically for the HDMI format. Unless it’s a very old model. The frequency of automatic updates is also configured immediately. This is very convenient if you don’t want to waste time on configuring components.
Even if a micro-USB-HDMI adapter is used during the connection, the process remains unchanged.
Wireless transmission options
There are several wireless options for connecting a smartphone to a TV. You can distribute via Wi-Fi or duplicate the image by another method. This may require the installation of additional software. It won’t be difficult to find it if you have a Google account.
Via USB cable
The user may face a situation when the phone asks for the type of connection. It is not difficult to make a choice, you will need to select an item with the appropriate name. To see the necessary content, on the TV, you also need to make the minimum settings. Reading mode should be marked “media files”.
The described step of connecting the smartphone will differ depending on the TV model. Some manufacturers provide a multimedia function on their equipment, on other TVs you will need to enter the Home or Source menu item. The file to be opened will be displayed on the TV screen. You will definitely need to change the signal source. The phone connected to the TV is charging.
Wired connection methods
It’s easy to guess which connection is called wired, and how it differs from wireless. With it, it is very easy to transfer an image from your phone to the screen of a large TV in a matter of minutes.
Using the wireless screen function on Smart TV
You can also transfer the image to the big screen through programs such as Intel WiDi and AirPlay. Any user will tell that in some cases it is not always convenient to use a cable. Software for wireless content transfer solves many problems. It is applicable not only to phones, but also to computers and even tablets. Intel WiDi technology from the same name and world famous company is based on the use of Wi-Fi.
But to connect devices, it is imperative that each of them support the technology used. Among the advantages, one can single out the absence of the need to use additional equipment in the form of a router, access point or router. You can find out if the TV supports WiDi from the list of technical capabilities specified by the manufacturer in the passport.
In principle, the activation of the technology on all TVs is the same. The user will need to open the menu first. It is located on the remote control, it can be designated as Smart or Home. Here you need to find and open Screen Share. This is how WiDi is activated.
You will need to download the corresponding application on your phone first. After starting it, scanning of the wireless display occurs automatically. As soon as the TV is found, the user will be prompted to connect to it. Several numbers will now appear on the big screen. They must be entered on the phone. As soon as the connection is made, the information on the smartphone screen will be displayed on the TV.
You can also use a tablet or laptop.
WiDi technology reduces the amount of wires in your home. Often, the technique is used as a monitor to a computer. It becomes more interesting to play, the picture will be bigger, and the impressions will be brighter. But with the technology in question, not everything is as smooth as it might seem at first glance. Since the manufacturer took care of equipping only his product, it is not possible to use wireless communication on every device.
You won’t be able to use WiDi even if you want to display a game with high technical requirements on the TV screen. This is because the processor graphics are scarce. If you look closely, it is difficult not to notice the delay when the picture is fed to the TV. In the case of video and photo, the delay of a few seconds is almost invisible, but during the game it becomes uncomfortable. Where instant response is required from the user, there will be none.
From the list of significant advantages that the technology can boast, we can single out:
- lack of wires;
- the ability to play files with FullHD resolution;
- expandable screen.
The disadvantages are the delay described above and the ability to use the technology only on Intel devices.
When using the AirPlay app, you first need to connect all devices to a Wi-Fi network. After that, a video or photo is found on the smartphone, which is planned to be duplicated on the big screen. Clicking on the icon selects the indicated TV. The file starts streaming.
Not all devices natively support this app, but you can check it out on the App Store. It also happens that the broadcast starts automatically. This happens when both devices are compatible with AirPlay and no additional action is required from the user.
If there is an icon in the form of a TV at the top of a running program, it means that the device is already activated.
How To CAST Android Phone to LG TV using SCREEN SHARE
When you need to change it, when you click on the indicated icon, a full list of devices available for use will be displayed.
How to display an image from a phone to a TV?
Today it is not difficult to display an image from a phone on a TV screen. Such a useful function is indispensable when viewing a home album of photos or videos. For a picture to appear on the screen, you only need to link two devices together. There are several methods for doing this. Each user chooses a convenient option for himself.
To transfer an image from a phone to a TV, you can go in two ways:
- wired connection;
The first option is convenient if you need to manage files directly from your TV, or watch a movie while charging your phone. The first method requires a standard USB cable. For the second, the MHL cord or adapter is a kind of HDMI. A few years ago, smartphones were also connected via HDMI, but today mobile equipment is extremely rarely equipped with a corresponding output. an adapter is required. It’s much easier to do everything via Wi-Fi.
The conversation about how to bring the phone screen to the TV comes down to a description of the technologies used. It is necessary to clarify the differences between them, otherwise users will get confused in their heads. This leads to problems when trying to connect devices wirelessly or when choosing a device. a person can look for something that he does not need at all.
Existing wireless technologies:
- Wi-Fi Direct;
It is a wireless LAN sync technology. In this case, both devices must be in the same Wi-Fi network, which is created by the router. With this method of connection, the user does not have the opportunity to simply duplicate the screen to the TV. The device acts as a storage device. that is, through special applications, you can access its memory. This is useful if you need to transfer some files from the phone to the TV memory. However, the idea is not the best, since the TV’s internal storage is usually limited. Some programs allow you to watch photos and videos on the TV screen, while the control is carried out from a smartphone.
Miracast is a way to output images from a phone to a TV, which grew out of Wi-Fi Direct. In fact, Miracast is an improved version of Wi-Fi Direct, its principle of operation is the same, but it has better encryption, less battery drain and is designed for transferring heavy files. The downside is that not all devices support Miracast, even modern ones, not to mention old models. But even if Mirakast is not in TV, then in any case it has Direct. Most often Mikarast is in LG and Sony TVs, as well as from less famous manufacturers.
If Mirakast is somehow familiar to users, then WiDi is a dark horse for many. At the same time, the technology is similar to Mirakast and was created as an alternative to it. The WiDi patent belongs to Intel. Initially, this function was possessed by technology on the processors of this manufacturer. laptops, later tablets and smartphones.
People in the know may wonder how WiDi will help connect a phone to a TV, if the latter are not produced on Intel processors today? The fact is that Mikarast and WiDi are backward compatible. that is, they are completely interchangeable. If the phone has Miracast support, and the TV has WiDi support, then the synchronization will happen in such a way that the user will not notice the difference.
It is worth noting that WiDi is far from uncommon in TV and shares the 50/50 market with Miracast. The main representative of this technology is Samsung.
How to mirror your phone screen to your TV
The TV allows you to watch various content, you can display it from any device. One of them is a smartphone. There are several synchronization options. Some, for example, a USB connection, allow you to connect the gadget as a storage device. An MHL connection allows you to display video on the screen, and only different Wi-Fi technologies will help you fully duplicate the screen. Below is how to display an image from a phone on TV.
Wi-Fi Direct is one of the first technologies that allowed displaying a picture from a phone to a TV. precisely, it was created so that a device equipped with a Wi-Fi module could independently create a wireless network. This was used to organize Wi-Fi networks without a router. Subsequently, the technology found a new application. with its help, they began to duplicate the smartphone screen on TV. The technology is old enough, but not outdated.
As the name suggests, AirPlay is the broadcast of the iPhone’s screen to the TV. An interesting point is that the method is again based on Wi-Fi direct, but has encryption, which allows only Apple technology to connect to TV. In fact, this is the only difference between AirPlay and the technologies described above. There is one “but”: not every TV has support for this option, while backward compatibility is not provided here. If the TV has Mirakast or Wai Dai, but there is no Air Play, then you will not be able to connect an iPhone or iPad to it.
Why is this done if the principle of operation is the same? Apple loves to use its own technology to make more money, and AirPlay is one of them. Today there is AirPlay 2. an improved version, so it is more correct to use this term, although the general meaning remains the same.
How to connect
Having figured out the ways to display the phone screen on the TV, it is worth moving on to the question. how to make this connection. It’s easy to do, and what’s more, the user doesn’t even need to know what kind of technology is used in the TV (with the exception of AirPlay). If your TV has Wi-Fi, then you just need to install a suitable application on your phone, and everything will work out.
There are several different programs on Android. Apple devices have it already preinstalled. just click on the AirPlay icon and select the one you need from the list of available equipment. This method will completely duplicate the screen. If you need to display some content, for example, a video, then the application used for this may also have an AirPlay icon. by clicking on it, synchronization is carried out.
Some phone makers have broadcast apps out of the box, so users don’t even have to download anything.
- Screen Mirroring. an app from Samsung.
- Streaming. an app from Xiaomi.
- Huawei Share. software from Huawei.
- LG Web Connect. a program from LG.
If the smartphone is of another brand, and no software is provided in it, then upon request, PlayMarket will display a whole list of suitable utilities. The following utilities received good user ratings:
- Broadcast to TV;
- Web Video Cast;
- Broadcast to TV;
- Screen Stream Mirroring.
In order to use any of the proprietary applications, you need to lower the curtain down and find the name of the utility. Next, a list of equipment available for synchronization will appear. It remains to select the desired one and enter the pin code that will be displayed on the screen of one of the devices.
To use any of the third-party applications, you just need to log in and search for a suitable device. By the way, they can be not only TV, but also various Smart set-top boxes. they will help if the TV does not initially have Wi-Fi.
How to enable support for broadcasting Miracast image (WiDI) on Samsung, LG, Sony and Philips TVs
Usually, in order to be able to transfer the image from the phone to the TV, it is enough that the TV is turned on and it has the Wi-Fi adapter turned on, but sometimes the wireless display function is turned off on the TV and you may need to turn it on in the settings first. Below are examples of such settings, on your TV the items may differ slightly, but the logic is usually the same and you can find the parameters you need.
- Samsung. on the TV remote, press the Source button and select Screen Mirroring. Also, in the network settings of some Samsung TVs, there may be additional items for setting screen mirroring.
- LG. go to the settings (the Settings button on the remote). Network. Miracast (Intel WiDi) and enable this function.
- Sony Bravia. Press the source selection button on your TV remote (usually at the top left) and select Screen mirroring. Also, if you enable Built-in Wi-Fi and a separate Wi-Fi Direct item in the TV network settings (go to Home, open Settings. Network there), the broadcast can be started without selecting a signal source (TV will automatically switch to wireless broadcast), but in this case, the TV must already be turned on.
- Philips. the option is enabled in Settings. Network settings. Wi-Fi Miracast.
Theoretically, the items can change from model to model, but almost all today’s TVs with a Wi-Fi module support image reception via Wi-Fi, and I’m sure you will be able to find the desired menu item.
Transferring images to an Android TV via Wi-Fi (Miracast)
Before starting, be sure to turn on Wi-Fi on your Android phone or tablet, otherwise the following steps will show that no wireless screens are available.
- In the notification area, find the “Broadcast” icon, and after searching for available TVs, click on the desired one and wait for the broadcast to start.
- If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone, find the Smart View icon in the notification area, tap on it, wait for the TV to be found, tap on it and wait for the broadcast to start.
- Go to Settings. Display. Broadcast (or Wireless Miracast Screen), your TV will be displayed in the list (it must be turned on at this moment). Click on it and wait for the connection to be completed. On some TVs, you will need to “allow” to connect (a prompt will appear on the TV screen).
- Open the list of quick actions in the Android notification area, select the “Broadcast” button (may not be available), after finding your TV, click on it.
That’s all. if everything went well, then after a short time you will see the screen of your smartphone or tablet on the TV (in the photo below, the “Camera” application is open on the device and the image is duplicated on TV).
You may also find additional information useful:
- The connection does not always happen the first time (sometimes it tries to connect for a long time and nothing comes out), but if everything that is required is included and supported, it is usually possible to achieve a positive result.
- The picture and sound transmission speed may not be the best, and most games will not work like this.
- If you have launched some kind of video on your phone, and it is transmitted to the TV as a black screen (which may be in some players and with protected content), it is better to use the transfer methods described below in the section with additional image transfer methods.
- If you usually use portrait (vertical) screen orientation, then by turning on automatic rotation and rotating the device, you will make the image occupy the entire TV screen.
Checking Android Screen Casting Support and Turning On Broadcast
In order not to waste time, I recommend that you first make sure that your phone or tablet supports displaying images on wireless displays: the fact is that not every Android device is capable of this. many of them belonging to the lower and partly to the middle price segment are not support Miracast.
- On Android 9 (in the case of a clean OS) go to Settings. Connected devices. Connection settings. Broadcast and make sure that the option to transfer images from the phone is enabled in the menu, as in the screenshot below.
- On Samsung Galaxy smartphones, open the notification area completely and see if there is a Smart View icon (keep in mind that icons in the notification area can be scrolled and the desired one may not be on the first page).
- On earlier versions of the OS, go to Settings. Display and see if there is an item “Broadcast” (in Android 6 and 7) or “Wireless display (Miracast)” (Android 5 and some devices with proprietary skins). If the item is present, you can immediately switch it to the “Enabled” state using the menu (called by three points) on pure Android or the On-Off switch in some shells.
- Another location where you can detect the presence or absence of the wireless image transfer function (“Screen transfer” or “Broadcast”) is the quick settings area in the Android notification area (however, it may be that the function is supported, but there are no buttons to turn on the broadcast, or it is hidden and can be turned on in the settings, as shown in the video below).
If you can’t find any wireless display settings, Screen Mirroring, Smart View, Broadcast, Miracast, or WiDi, try searching through the settings by going to settings and using the search field. If nothing similar is found, it is most likely that your device does not support wireless image transmission to a TV or other compatible screen.
How to Transfer Picture from Android Phone to TV
Not all owners of modern Smart TV and Android smartphones or tablets know that it is possible to transfer images from a phone to a TV via Wi-Fi using Miracast technology. There are other ways, for example, using an MHL cable or Chromecast (a separate device that connects to the HDMI port of the TV and receives an image via Wi-Fi) or using DLNA when connected to the same network.
In this manual, you will learn in detail how to use the ability to broadcast images with sound from your Android 9, 8, 7 and earlier phone to a TV that supports Miracast technology (Screen Mirroring). At the same time, despite the fact that the connection is via Wi-FI, the presence of a router at home is not required, in any case for the direct transmission, which is discussed in the first part of the manual. Additional options for transferring images, videos and photos from Android to TV
If your task is to transfer videos and photos to a TV, and not just transfer a screen with all its limitations, I recommend using other methods, but keep in mind that, unlike the previous method, it requires both TV and smartphone to be connected to the same networks (via cable or Wi-Fi. does not matter):
- An application for casting to XCast TV, available for free on the Play Store and supporting DLNA transmission (you can broadcast videos and photos from your phone), Chromecast and even AirPlay. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?ID= cast.video.screenmirroring.casttoTV
- Cast Web Video app, which allows you to cast images not only from your phone, but also from network video services, is available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?ID=castwebbrowsertoTV.castwebvideo.webvideocaster
- Do not forget that if the TV is turned on and you are playing YouTube videos on your phone, you can click on the broadcast icon in the application on your phone to start playing the same video on a TV with the ability to control on Android.
Hopefully one of the suggested solutions worked for your phone and TV sharing scenario.

How to turn off the phone screen when dubbing to TV? if possible.
I do not know the ways and I am not sure what they are when mirroring the screen.
I am also very interested in this question who will help?
All inclusive and Direct etc.
Once everything was fine, and the screen was transmitted to the TV.
And then, like in the phone, I click on the connection, then the TV immediately disappears. We have tried more than once to change what to do?
Good day! Everything worked fine on the Philips TV from the Huawei P20 PRO phone. But, the sound on the TV is regulated only from the phone and, accordingly, it is hard to hear. The TV remote control does not respond to volume increase…. How to make it louder?
Hello. I connected the phone to the TV, everything worked fine. But when I launched the MTC TV or Megafon TV application and selected a channel, it shows a black screen, but there is sound, and when you press the phone screen, the timekeeping school appears, and it also appears on the TV, but the image does not. What is the reason? Thank you in advance!
Many thanks to the author! Everything works great! Explanations are available to everyone!
Good day. Bought 2 identical Xiaomi TVs on Ali. My friend’s smartphone Xiaomi note4 displays a wireless display without any problems, but I can’t. The smartphone sees my TV, the connection process goes on for a while, and this is where it all ends. I distribute Wi-Fi from the same smartphone via an access point, for a friend everything works from my smartphone, but not for me. Please tell me what could be the problem. Thank you in advance.
Maybe just in the distribution of Wi-Fi? Try to turn off the distribution and connect to the TV.
The fact that TV is not connected to the network will be at this moment. it doesn’t matter.
Hello, there is an image display on YouTube and it works, but this function is not in the phone settings. I wanted to start the game.
help me please.
Good day to all. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphone, LG KP5900 TV set, the Cast on YouTube of the phone perfectly transmits, but after a certain time, the picture and sound begin to freeze, for 20 seconds it freezes, then it works normally again and so on constantly. Please tell me who solved this problem. I will be grateful.
And if the same video is launched without a phone, but simply on TV in the YouTube application? It’s just that the problem is due to the “small brains” of the TV.
Hello. Smart TV. Accidentally clicked “reject” the connection of the phone to the TV. Now, whenever you try to connect wirelessly from your phone, the TV automatically rejects the request without asking anything. What to do?
I think somewhere in the TV settings you can find the corresponding parameters and disable the lock there.
Good evening TV Philips 5507. I can not bring Smart to TV help
And what exactly does not work? At what stage is the problem and what it looks like?
Sound stutters when broadcasting a movie from a smartphone to a TV via Wi-Fi. Something can be done?
Most likely nothing, if just by transferring the image, as in the article you are transferring. Not very stable such connection.
But if you are the one to transfer movies (and those saved on the phone) to TV, then it is better to use DLNA for this (I do not have such instructions, but there is a DLNA server on Android on the Internet upon request)
I got out of the situation. I bought a cable and now I watch movies from my laptop online. I don’t like downloading and saving.
Thank you for your answer.
Good day. I have a UE46ES800 Samsung TV, I tried to transfer an image from a Sony E5533 Android 6.0 phone, it has screen mirroring, and the TV does not have a Screen Mirroring signal source, it has HDMI, HDMI2-CEC and external. How can I accomplish my idea? Need some kind of device?
Is there something related to Smart View somewhere? perhaps not in the choice of the signal, but separately in the settings.
And it is possible to transfer a screen image from a laptop to an Android tablet using a cable or otherwise in a movie mode?
Good afternoon, the TV shows a “playback error” when performing the 2nd step of connecting to the TV, miracle is on, wi-fi direct finds TV, the phone model is redmi note 4x. Tell me how to solve the problem.
If the TV shows it like this, then the smartphone may somehow encode the signal differently than the TV supports. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to fix it. If possible, check on another TV (from relatives, friend).
I have a TV with HDMI and USB, and an Android tablet with the same ports. What are the ways to transfer images through these ports?
Depends on the phone. Some are able to use USB-C (and in my opinion there were even rare models with MicroUSB) via a cable or adapter to transmit via HDMI, but the specific phone model is important here.
Well, or, if there is support for Miracast on TV and phone, then as described in the article.
How to connect a phone to a TV. all the ways
Today’s telephones surpass the first computers in their capabilities. Apps, games, social media, and the internet have become standard features on any smartphone. Some users sometimes need to connect their phone to a TV. There can be many reasons, but most often such a connection is made to view phone files on a large TV screen.
On the TV, you can play multimedia files from your phone, and you can also use the phone’s memory as a flash drive. There are several ways to connect your phone to your TV. It all depends on which connectors your equipment has and which connecting cables are available. Choose the most convenient connection method.
How To Mirror Your iPhone to a LG TV
It should be noted that the easiest way to connect your phone to a TV is via an HDMI connection. To do this, it is necessary that the TV has a free HDMI port, and the micro. HDMI (outwardly it is very similar to micro. USB, but these are different connectors). All you need is a cable with a standard HDMI (Type A) connector on one end and a micro connector on the other. HDMI (Type D). Turn off both devices and use the cable to connect the corresponding connectors. After that, turn on the TV and phone, use the remote control to go to the TV menu and select HDMI as the signal source. If there are several HDMI connectors, then select the one to which the cable is connected. Now you can run videos, music and applications on your phone. With this connection, both picture and sound will be transmitted. Please note that not all applications support screen mirroring.
If nothing appears on the TV screen, there may be a problem with your phone settings. Usually, all settings take place in automatic mode and do not require intervention. If this does not happen, you can manually configure the transmission. Go to phone settings and select HDMI. then we are looking for HDMI format. In the window that appears, select the resolution and refresh rate that your TV supports.
It may happen that your phone does not have a micro connector. HDMI. In this case, you can use a special m icro-USB converter. HDMI. It connects to the m icro-USB connector on the phone. After that, you can connect your phone to your TV using a regular HDMI to HDMI cable.
Connect your phone using a wireless connection
The question of wireless connection between TV and phone is very interesting. However, it is difficult to talk about such a connection in general terms. Many TV manufacturers have developed apps that allow you to connect your phone over Wi. Fi. LG has Smart Share. With this function, you can transfer videos, music and pictures from your phone (LG brand. Smart Share compatible) to your TV. To do this, both devices must be on the same network. There should not be any particular difficulties, because TVs with Smart Share probably have a built-in Wi module. Fi.
For Samsung TVs, this is the AllShare feature, which also makes it easy to connect your phone wirelessly. There is also Wi-Fi Direct technology. If both your TV and your phone support this technology, you can connect them directly wirelessly for information exchange, synchronization, and file sharing. Thus, it becomes obvious that you can connect your phone to your TV using Wi. Fi is possible. You need to familiarize yourself with the capabilities of your devices in more detail and find the right software.
Most modern TVs have a USB port. Using it, you can connect a phone, but with such a connection, the phone is defined as an external carrier (roughly speaking, like a flash drive). Displaying a picture or video on the TV screen will not work. All you need is a USB to micro-USB cable. Connect the appropriate connectors with the equipment off and you’re done.
We’ve covered the basic ways to connect your phone to your TV. Surely you will be satisfied with at least one of them. Watching photos or videos on the big screen, listening to music or playing games are all possible. As you can see, connecting your phone to your TV is not that difficult. With the right cable, you can easily cope with this task.
Wireless connectivity options

Using a SlimPort adapter
The SlimPort standard is found on LG and Samsung devices and acted as an alternative to MHL. How to play video from phone to TV in such a situation. use a special adapter. In comparison with the previous version, a better and more stable picture is provided. In this case, the adapter does not require additional power supply. Although the device has a port, it can be used to recharge the mobile.
This is what the SlimPort adapter looks like
It should be noted that the technology is demanding on the cable. It is better to purchase a branded product, since budget options may interfere or not work at all.
This method allows you to take a signal from the data connector. This requires a special MHL adapter. Subsequent connection is completely identical to the previous options.
Of course, you need to know how to watch a movie from your phone on TV using MHL, but the option is not the most convenient. To provide a stable video signal to the TV screen, an additional 5 V power supply must be supplied to the adapter. At the same time, the mobile device does not charge, so the available energy supply is quickly consumed. In addition, you will not be able to watch at a maximum resolution of 1080p, as there are severe interruptions.
All cable connections
First of all, let’s decide how to broadcast video from a phone to a TV using a cable.
The most convenient and simple technology. To do this, you need to get a microUSB to HDMI adapter and perform the following manipulations:
- turn on the TV, activate the HDMI signal source;
- using an adapter, we connect the devices to each other;
- automatic broadcast setting is activated.

If for some reason the setting did not start, open the gadget menu and set the required parameters manually. After these steps, the picture from the mobile will be broadcast on TV.

Although modern phones stand out with large screens, it is still inconvenient to view various photos and videos. However, current technologies allow you to connect a mobile device to a TV and display any picture or video on the big screen. In the following, we will present all the ways how to display the image from the phone to the TV.
Remote inclusion of YouTube videos
If the TV has a YouTube app, it means that it can be controlled from a smartphone. To do this, open the application on the TV. In its settings, we select the smartphone we need. The code will be displayed on the screen. We go into a similar application on the mobile and in its settings we find “connected TVs”. In a special window, enter the code and click on the “add” button. It remains only on the phone to activate the desired video on YouTube.
