Download and install Android Auto for your phone [download]. IMPORTANT! Android Auto version 3 (which is currently on Google Play) and AA Mirror are not compatible, so I gave you a download link from my I.

Download and install AA Mirror from. resource (always up-to-date version) or my Ya.D.

Launch Android Auto on a phone NOT CONNECTED to the car and do the following:

We select the item “About the application”

With AA sorted out, go to AA Mirror (respectively, launch it on the phone NOT CONNECTED to the car). Here we will see several menus. Let’s start with Screen settings:

Brightness (turn on). Below you can enter a value from 0 to 255.0 is the minimum brightness, 255 is the maximum. This item is responsible for what will happen to the phone while AA Mirror is running. In human-like language, this means that when the application is running, the phone screen will be turned on (cannot be locked), but the brightness will be as low as possible.

Rotation. We expose Force. Below we choose 90 degree. This setting is responsible for the fact that when working with AA Mirror, the image is displayed not in portrait mode, but in landscape.

Restore rotation on focus lost [enable]. It is necessary so that when you disconnect the cable. the phone returns the settings to their original state. Without the disabled option, you will be stupid with a “broken screen” that shows the image strictly in landscape mode.

Screen size (root) [enable]. there are several options here. None. tells us that no elements need to be hidden. Hide Status. hides the status bar of your system (where there are notifications, clock and battery). Hide navigation. hides the on-screen control buttons (if you have a phone without physical buttons). Full immersive. hides all of the above.

Adjust ratio on focus [enable]. adjust the image to the resolution of our GU

Restore ratio on focus lost [enable]. will return everything to its original state

Open on start. is responsible for the menu to appear at startup (as in the video) on the left

Open on two finger tap. enables 2-finger response. We tap on the GU screen with two fingers. this menu opens.

After that, AA Mirror will ask for ROOT rights, which will need to be confirmed on the phone itself. If this is not done, you will not be able to control the contents of the screen from the GU, only from the phone.
