Adjusting the refresh rate of the screen
Right click anywhere on the monitor. Under Properties, open Options → Advanced → Screen Refresh Rate. The maximum value should be selected from the displayed values. Important: a frequency below 70 Hz is harmful to vision, as it causes image flickering.
How to adjust contrast
The Windows 7 operating system has a “wizard” with which you can adjust the brightness and contrast of the monitor. Control panel → “Display” →. Color Calibration. Then follow the prompts.
Adjusting laptop screen brightness
To adjust the brightness on a laptop, you need to find a function button with the image of the sun. The keys F5 and F6 in the top row of the keyboard are responsible for this. To set a convenient brightness, hold down the Fn button SIMultaneously with the F5 (to decrease the brightness) or F6 (to increase the brightness).
The brightness can also be adjusted via the control panel. Find the “Hardware and Sound” section, select the “Power Options” item and set the slider to the desired level.
Laptop screen customization
A properly configured monitor screen is the key to successful and productive work with a laptop. Optimal monitor setup begins with adjusting the elementary components.
Testing the laptop screen at home
Thanks to the modern production of monitors, equipment testing can be done at home. The process should start by checking the application of the gray tint. When performing testing, pay attention to brightness, contrast and color gamut.
Next, download a special wallpaper on your laptop and set the image on the screen saver for your Desktop. Maintain your usual distance from the screen and look closely at the monitor. You should see a solid color gradient, not multi-colored stripes.
If stripes are still visible on the screen, then a calibration must be performed. Use the Atrise Lutcurve program. Run the file and click on the line “Gamma”.
Show color gamut should not be higher than 1.8. Next, make sure that the square on the left does not differ from the black background. To do this, change the degree of brightness. The “White Point” values should be reduced to 20, and the “All Cintrols” values should be set so that the squares become gray.
You can see the test results immediately. The only downside to this program is the cost. However, there are several analogues, for example, the tested CLTest.
If home testing doesn’t solve your problem, it’s time to seek professional help.
As a reminder, these are just basic monitor settings. There are many programs for people who need special screen settings.
