Is it possible to recover photos on iPhone
There are four different ways to help you recover deleted photos on iPhone. But they all depend on the complexity of the problem and the age of deleting the photos themselves.
- Recover accidentally deleted photos from the “Photos” folder.
- Recover Photos from iCloud Backup.
- Recover Photos from iTunes Backup.
- Recover completely deleted photos using third-party programs.
And if the first three options are simple methods that Apple itself offers, then the latter cannot guarantee 100% information recovery. However, as for the photos, it is most often possible to restore them.
how to recover deleted photos from iPhone
If, while browsing the gallery with photos on your iPhone, you accidentally sent a picture to the trash or did it recently (no more than 40 days ago), then this method is probably suitable for you.
The fact is that when you press the trash can button or “Delete photos”, your photos are not completely deleted, but are stored for up to 40 days in a separate “Recently Deleted” folder. Therefore, in this case, you can restore photos on iPhone like this:
- Go to the “Photos” folder and select the “Albums” tab;
- Select an album titled “Recently Deleted”;
- Indicate which photo should be restored by clicking on it 1 time or press the “Select” button and select the “Restore All” function;
- Click “Recover” and your photo will appear in the “Photos” folder again.
How to Recover Deleted Photos on iPhone from iTunes Backup
Any photos that have been “permanently deleted” from your iPhone library can also be easily restored from an iTunes backup. This is done in almost the same way as in the case of iCloud, but there are some nuances.
The obvious advantage of restoring via iTunes is that all your backups will be stored on your computer in a dedicated folder. For Windows computers, this folder is located at: C: \ Users \ username \ AppData \ Roaming \ Apple Computer \ MobileSync \ Backup \. And for MacOS, backups are most often stored here: X: \ Users \ username \ Library \ Application Support \ MobileSync \.
The downside of this method is that you need to periodically make backups in iTunes yourself. This is so that the most complete version of the copy is saved on the computer.
So, in order to restore photos on iPhone using a backup in iTunes, you need:
- Check for backup.
- Connect iPhone to your computer using a cable or using a wireless connection.
- Launch iTunes on your computer.
- Check that iTunes detects your iPhone, for this, the smartphone icon above the left sidebar of the iTunes taskbar should become active and you will need to click on it.
- In the “Backups” area, make sure that the checkbox is on the “This computer” item, and then on the right, click the “Restore from a copy” button.
- iTunes will open a window for you with a choice of available backups and all you need to do is select the appropriate one.
How to Recover Photos on iPhone without Backup
If you have completely deleted photos from iPhone and have not previously created backups, then there is still a chance to restore everything using third-party programs. They cannot provide a 100% guarantee of file recovery, but if the files were recently erased, they are more likely to be recovered. All of these programs require iPhone to be connected via cable.
Tenorshare. UltData iPhone Data Recovery

On the other hand, if a photo was deleted on an iPhone with a data connection (as is most likely), but the other devices associated with that iCloud account are offline or disconnected, the deletion will not complete. If the first two approaches didn’t work, don’t worry. If you are using Apple iTunes software, your device is backed up by syncing with it connected or over Wi-Fi. Both Windows PCs and Macs running macOS 10.14 or earlier can run iTunes. If you’re using macOS 10.15 or later, you won’t have iTunes, but you can still create backups using Finder.

Once you have found the file (or files, you can recover up to 4 files at the same time with our free version), click Extract in the lower right corner. Click Continue on the popup and your files will be extracted.
If you have manually moved your iOS backups from the default backup location, you can tell iPhone Backup Extractor about your alternate backup locations by clicking the button in the bottom left of the window. That will open the preferences pane, where you can add another backup search path. ?
For privacy reasons, iPhone Backup Extractor will only show backups that were created by the logged in user. If another user on a PC or Mac may have synced iTunes with an iPhone or iPad, ask them to sign in and install our software.

Is there a “Trash” on iPhones??
If your iPhone is running iOS 8 or a later version of the “operating system”, you can return a picture that was erased by mistake without even leaving the “Photos” application. Together with the 8th version of the OS, the “Recently Deleted” folder appears on Apple gadgets, which is a complete analogue of the “Recycle Bin” on Windows. After deletion, the photos go to this folder and are stored there for 30 days.
Go to the “Photos” application and find the “Recently Deleted” folder among the albums.
Click on the “Select” button in the upper right corner and mark the images you want to return with checkmarks.
After selecting the desired photos, click “Recover”.
The pictures will return to the album from which they disappeared.
This recovery method is appropriate if you have deleted photos in a standard way and have done it recently. If images are lost due to unsuccessful manipulations with the software, you should familiarize yourself with other methods.
How to recover deleted photos on iPhone using third-party programs?
If the deleted snapshot is not included in any backup, you should prepare for financial expenses. All applications that can recover videos, photos and other data on an “apple” gadget are paid utilities, moreover, their “bite”.
We have already written about how to recover SMS on iPhone and suggested using the shareware utility iSkySoft. It should be noted that the situation with SMS is simpler: the information contained in the message can be viewed using the trial version of the program. there is usually no point in returning an SMS to the device.
Free versions of special programs only allow you to find out if it is possible to restore a lost photo. but directly to restore you need to purchase the Pro version.
The best “reanimator” of erased data is often recognized as a utility called SmartPhone Recovery Pro, which can be downloaded from the developer’s website Enigma Recovery. The full version of this program costs almost 4 thousand rubles, however, having paid this money, you can be sure of the result. How to get back photos via SmartPhone Recovery Pro?
Run the utility and go to the “Recover from iOS Device” section.
Check the boxes of what kind of data you want to return. Our task is to restore the photo; then we put a daw in front of the item “Photos”.
Click on the big green button “Start scan”. this will start scanning the gadget’s disk. Just below the iPhone image, it is indicated how much more time the user has to wait for the analysis results.
At the end of the scan, the iPhone user will see something like this:
The SmartPhone Recovery Pro program summarizes how many deleted and existing photos and videos it managed to find in the iPhone memory. In our case, the utility found 233 erased photos and 4 deleted clips. There are no existing photos and videos on the gadget.
Click “Continue” and see what results the program has achieved. Please note that only one deleted photo is available for preview (the very first one). the developers apparently considered this to be sufficient for the user to be convinced of its effectiveness. A preview of the rest is available after purchasing the full version, so you can only find the desired snapshot in the list of detected SmartPhone Recovery Pro by name.
Select the checkbox of the photo you want to return to the iPhone memory. If you want to restore all deleted images, check the box next to the name of the “Camera Roll” section in the “Folders” block.
Click on the “Restore” button. SmartPhone Recovery Pro also allows you to export data to XLS, CSV (for Outlook), XML files (via the “Export” button), but this option is more appropriate when recovering, say, contacts, SMS and notes than photos.
The program will notify you that you are still using the trial version, and will offer to purchase the full.
If you click “Buy”, you will find yourself on the developer’s site, where you can pay for SmartPhone Recovery Pro. You need to click on the “Activate” button if you have an activation code.
At this stage, an unexpected turn awaits us: we press “Cancel” and click on the cross to close the program.
A message appears offering a 40% discount on the utility. so long as you don’t leave.
Press the green button “Yes, I want to use this discount”, and you will find yourself on the developer’s website, where you will see that the cost of the software has changed significantly in your favor.
Instead of the promised 40% discount, you get only 30%, but this is already a significant savings. After you pay and activate the full version of the utility, the photos you have selected will be returned to the device memory.
A user who tries several iPhone data recovery programs that are offered on thematic sites and forums will certainly notice how much all the utilities are similar to each other. Using the SmartPhone Recovery Pro instructions, you can easily master Enigma Recovery, Tenorshare UltData, iSkySoft iPhone Data Recovery and many other programs.
From the point of view of the recovery algorithm, there are no differences. to be sure, even if the design elements of most utilities converge. The conspiracy theorists have room for imagination: there is a strong feeling that all the programs listed were created “under one wing” and exist only in order to create the “illusion of choice” for the user.

The easiest way to recover is iCloud. But, this method is useless if you have not enabled synchronization in advance. In this case, only the recovery of the files themselves will help, which is easiest to carry out using the Tenorshare UltData utility. This utility was specially developed by Tenorshare to work with iPhone and other portable equipment from one of the most famous American smartphone manufacturers. The utility is notable for its versatility, simplicity and other features, as well as functionality that iTunes cannot boast yet. An additional important detail and feature is the ability to work with Android devices through the utility.

Mastering iTunes and iCloud is extremely important for experienced users of the brand’s products, since the utility and cloud storage are widely used when working with a smartphone. Although, in the era of high-speed mobile Internet, iTunes began to turn more into a cloud-based media library.

How to Recover Photos on iPhone. 3 Ways
In this article, we will take a look at the most popular and working ways to recover photos on your iPhone if they have been deleted for one reason or another. We will talk about such methods as recovering photos using iCloud, iTunes and using a program called UltData.
How to Recover Photos on iPhone with iTunes
Most iPhone owners create cloud storage not only in iCloud, but also in iTunes. The principle of photo recovery is not complicated, but it only works if you have backed up photos in your iTunes. If this is your case, then you will need to perform a few simple steps, which will be discussed below.
1.First, you need to go to the “Settings” section on your iPhone, then to “iCloud”.
On the computer where the photos were backed up, you must start iTunes. It will not be superfluous to check the program update for the latest version.
The next step is to connect the device via a USB cable to your computer. Nothing complicated here.
In the launched iTunes program, select the connected device.
On the left side, you will see a list of settings. Select “Browse”, then on “Recover from a copy”.
A window will open in front of you, in which you will need to select a backup copy of a photo or a group of photos that you need to restore.
Next, you need to click on the “Restore” line. After that, your device will start the restore process from the backup, and you need to wait until the restore process is complete. An important point is the synchronization of your device with the computer and the iTunes program itself, so in no case disconnect the cable or close the program until the synchronization is complete. When the sync is complete, you can exit iTunes and check for recovered photos on your iPhone. If this method did not help you, then do not despair and go to the third method of photo recovery.
Recover Deleted Photos with Tenorshare UltData
If the previous methods did not lead you to success, then you need to use the Tenorshare UltData program, which will easily return your data.
This program is suitable for both Windows and Mac OS.
UltData combines the functions of saving existing information and recovering lost information, therefore, it can perform partial or complete recovery on all versions of iPhone.
There are 3 recovery methods using this program.
The first method is to restore data without backup. You can use it without using a backup (for example, if more than 30 days have passed since the photo was deleted) or if your iPhone is connected to Mac.
Connect your device via USB cable to your computer. Then you should run the program and select the first recovery mode. Recover from iOS device.
Then you need to select a photo and scan.
After these simple manipulations, you will be presented with all your photos by category, which will greatly simplify the task of selective recovery.
Click on a photo, or a group of photos that need to be restored and click on “restore”.
The second method is done using an iTunes backup. This method occurs by restoring files from a backup. To do this, follow these steps:
First, select the recovery mode. Recover files from iTunes. You will be given a choice of backups to select. Next, click on “scan”. If there is no file in the backup, you can use the import.
Next, select the files you need and click on “restore”. This step must be performed after the scan is complete.
The third method can be done using an iCloud backup. To do this, you need to follow several steps:
You need to go to the top tab, where the cloud will be displayed. Then sign in with your iCloud account.
At this point, after you are logged into your account, you will be presented with iCloud backups to choose from. Next, you need to select the files you want to restore. After making a choice at the bottom of the window, click on “Next” to start downloading files.
At this step, you will have access to photos placed in separate categories. Select the files you need and click on “Recover” to save them.
